BMW's „Electronic Suspension Adjustment“ is a masterpiece of engineering. Innovative shock absorber technology, made in Germany. It is primarily used in the K1200, K1300, K1600 and the K1200GS models. This system allows the rider to adjust the rebound damping of the front and rear suspension. Furthermore, the spring rate, i.e. the „hardness“ of the damping, can be electronically adjusted from the cockpit. This is very comfortable, and anyone who has used this system knows the advantages of the BMW ESA and ESA2 systems precisely.

The BMW ESA system, due to its complexity, is more prone to problems. It's logical that an electronically controlled shock absorber system requires more components that can sustain damage.
Defects in the stepper motor and leaks in the ESA system are common.
We can repair both and, if necessary, replace them cost-effectively.
The Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) is a technical masterpiece, but unfortunately also prone to issues. Common faults include leaking shock absorbers or malfunctioning stepper motors.
